The Czech driving licence has the same categories and type-approval rules as the European one.
The European Economic Area recognises Czech driving licences. It can be utilised if it is valid, the driver is old enough to drive the vehicle, and the licence is not suspended, restricted, or revoked.
Czech driver licence types are as follows.

Mopeds and smaller 2- or 3-wheelers: Class AM licence

Under some conditions, a Class AM driver’s licence allows moped and 2- or 3-wheel vehicle use. Its cylinder capacity must not exceed 50 cubic centimetres and its design speed must not exceed 45 kmph (28 mph).
Class A, A1, and A1 (motorcycles, three-wheelers)
Class A1: covers all AM licence requirements and allows drivers to operate motorbikes under 125 cubic centimetres. Motorcycle power cannot exceed 11 kilowatts (15 hp), and three-wheeled cycles cannot exceed 15 kw (20 hp).
Class A2: covers all A1 and AM regulations and certifies drivers of motorbikes up to 35 kw. The vehicle cannot have a power-to-weight ratio over 0.2 kilowatt per kilogramme or be from a vehicle with double the power.
Class A: A1, A2, AM, and any motorcycle or tricycle not in Class A1 or A2.

Motor vehicle Class B, BE, and B1 licence

Class B comprises AM licences and cars under 3,500 kg (7,700 lb) MAM. Under specific conditions, the vehicle may tow trailers and carry up to 8 passengers.
Class BE covers class B motor vehicles and any combination of vehicles that can pull any number of trailers or a semi-trailer that meets requirements.
Heavy quads Class B1

Large goods vehicle licences C, C1, C1E, and CE

Class C1 requires a Class B licence and driver certification for big cargo vehicles under 7.5 tonnes MAM. This is with or without a caravan, up to 750 kg.
Class C1E: requires a Class C1 licence, class BE requirements, and certification to combine vehicles with a C1 tractor trailer. The aggregate mass cannot exceed 12,000 kg (26,000 lb), and trailers or semi-trailers cannot exceed 750 kg.
Class C: requires a 1-year Class B licence, C1 requirements and approval to drive heavy cargo vehicles up to 8 + 1 seats. Caravan weight shall not exceed 750 kg (1,650 lb).
Class CE: requires a class C licence, incorporates BE and C1E regulations, and allows various vehicle-trailer combinations.

Category D buses

A Class B licence is needed to drive a Class D1 light bus. The bus cannot exceed 16 + 1 seats or 8 metres (26 feet) in length under this class.
Class D1E: allows drivers to utilise D1 vehicles, including trailers and semi-trailers, with a Class D1 licence.
Category D: authorises drivers of buses with more than 8 + 1 seats with a Class B licence.
Class DE: requires a Class D licence and allows drivers to combine vehicles with Category D tractor vehicles within mass constraints.
